Whimstars are one of the most important collectibles in Infinity Nikki. They are used to upgrade your abilities, unlock new skills, and progress through the game. There are hundreds of Whimstars scattered across Miraland, and finding them all takes patience and exploration.
What Are Whimstars Used For?
Whimstars are used to unlock and upgrade your ability nodes on the Heart of Infinity skill tree. Each upgrade costs a certain number of Whimstars and Blings. Upgrading abilities is essential for:
- Unlocking new exploration skills
- Improving your gathering efficiency
- Accessing previously unreachable areas
- Completing collection milestones for rewards
Types of Whimstars
There are several ways to obtain Whimstars:
1. World Whimstars (Exploration)
These are found in the overworld. They come in several varieties:
- Stomp Whimstars: Jump on them 3-5 times to collect
- Race Whimstars: Chase a glowing orb and reach it before time runs out
- Puzzle Whimstars: Complete a nearby puzzle (light torches, arrange objects, etc.)
- Floating Whimstars: Use your abilities to reach high platforms
- Hidden Whimstars: Interact with specific objects or spots in the environment
2. Quest Whimstars
Many main story quests and side quests reward Whimstars upon completion. Always check the quest rewards before accepting.
3. Achievement Whimstars
Reaching certain milestones in your Codex (collections, outfits, exploration %) rewards Whimstars.
Best Farming Route by Region
Florawish (Starting Area)
The first area has approximately 40+ Whimstars. Most are easy to reach and serve as a tutorial for the different Whimstar types. Focus on these first to unlock basic ability upgrades.
- Florawish Meadows: 8-10 Whimstars scattered across the open fields
- Lakeside: 5-7 Whimstars near water features
- Riverside Village: 6-8 Whimstars around buildings and paths
- Wishing Woods: 12-15 Whimstars hidden among trees and ruins
Stonecrown Highlands
This mountainous region has about 50+ Whimstars. Some require climbing abilities and are more challenging to reach.
- Highland Plateau: 10-12 Whimstars in the open highlands
- Limestone Caves: 8-10 Whimstars in underground areas
- Summit Areas: 6-8 Whimstars on mountain peaks
Breezy Meadows
A wind-swept region with approximately 35-40 Whimstars. Many require using the gliding ability.
Whispering Vale
A forest region with 30+ Whimstars. Look carefully in tree hollows and under bushes.
